The story behind Pitter Yachtcharter
What began in 1987 with a small Elan 33 in Biograd, Croatia, has developed into one of the largest yacht charter companies in Europe. Today, as the booking center of the Nautic Alliance, Pitter offers its customers a fleet of over 600 yachts at 30 charter bases in 7 countries.

The beginnings: The roots of Pitter Yachtcharter go back to the 1980s, when the Pitter family fulfilled their dream of owning their own small sailing yacht.
In order to better utilize the yacht and secure financing, Klaus Pitter and his father decided to sail as skippers and offered their yacht for charter.
This was the first time they came into contact with the yacht charter business, which laid the foundations for the future company.
The yacht was stationed in Biograd, where the Croatian headquarters of Pitter Yachtcharter are still located today.
Expansion: With the founding of the yacht charter agency for the Austrian market, the business took off and gradually more and more boats were added to the charter program and additional bases were offered.
During the difficult times of the war in the former Yugoslavia in the 1990s, the strength of the company was demonstrated, which grew through fair conditions and a close relationship with its customers.
Quality and the best Service at fair prices became the company motto of Pitter Yachtcharter, which is still practiced today.
Setting the course for international growth:
In 2001, Klaus Pitter took over the business completely and, together with his new partner Marin Katičin, laid the foundations for expansion in Croatia and beyond.
Gradually, more and more partner bases were added to the fleet program, whereby the charter offer of Pitter Yachtcharter grew continuously.
In order to meet the growing international customer requirements, Klaus Pitter founded the Nautic Alliance in 2015 as a seal of quality to ensure that the same high quality and service standards apply at the international partner bases – for example in Turkey or Greece – as customers are accustomed to from Pitter’s own bases in Croatia.
