Sailing in the Fall
Where things are really starting to get nice
When temperatures drop at home, the best time of the year begins for many sailors in the Mediterranean.
Late summer and fall—especially September and October—offer perfect conditions in select sailing areas for a relaxing, windy, and less touristy yacht charter.

Croatia
Beautiful autumn scenery—with guaranteed wind
Why go sailing in Croatia?
The Croatian Adriatic is a fantastic sailing destination through mid-September—especially for families and laid-back crews. After that, it gets windier: the bora and sirocco bring more excitement to the water. Those with some experience or who keep a close eye on the weather can still enjoy fantastic cruises even in October.
Tip: In the fall, you’ll be especially well taken care of at our southern bases. The temperatures are mild, the facilities remain excellent well into October, and many konobas are still open.

Greece
Late Summer in the Gulf of Volos, Around Lefkada and Corfu
Sailing in the Gulf of Volos
The Gulf of Volos is a virtually unknown gem. Nestled between the Pelion Peninsula and the Northern Sporades, it offers a sheltered sailing area with short legs, good protection from almost all wind directions, and authentic, small villages. In the fall, it’s pleasantly quiet here, the water is still warm, and the Meltemi has usually died down.
Tip: Perfect for those who enjoy a leisurely cruise. The region generally has mild winds, making it ideal even for less experienced Crews.
Lefkas & the Ionian Islands
The Ionian Islands—including Lefkada, Meganisi, Ithaca, and Kefalonia —are a delight in the fall, with gentle breezes, turquoise waters, and a pleasantly relaxed atmosphere. The area is ideal for families, couples, and those looking to unwind. Many taverns in small coves remain open well into October.
Corfu – Autumnal Elegance
Corfu is still wonderfully warm in September, with ideal wind conditions for active yet safe sailing trips. Even in October, the weather is stable enough for pleasant sailing. Particularly appealing: the Diapontian Islands and the Albanian coast—a touch of adventure without having to sacrifice comfort.

Mallorca
Golden Autumn in the Balearic Islands
Why go sailing in Mallorca?
The Balearic Island of Mallorca has long been more than just a summer destination. It’s an ideal sailing destination for an autumn cruise: the water is still warm, the air is pleasantly cool, and the harbors are less crowded. From a sailing perspective, the island often shows its best side in late summer and fall: consistent afternoon thermals and calm nights in the anchorages.
Tip: Word has gotten around that Mallorca is a top sailing destination for fall cruises—it pays to book early!

Turkey
Long Season in Göcek & Fethiye Bay
Why go sailing in Turkey?
With its sheltered bays, warm waters, and welcoming hospitality, the Turkish Aegean offers a first-class sailing destination—often well into November. The region around Göcek, Fethiye, and Marmaris, in particular, delights visitors with stable conditions, calm waters, and culinary highlights at the coastal restaurants.
Göcek itself is known for short sailing trips, turquoise anchorages, and excellent Service. This area is also ideal for late fall—if you’re flexible, you can extend your season here even when boats across the rest of Europe are already back on land.

Sailing Destinations for a Fall Cruise
Whether it’s Croatia, Greece, Mallorca, or Turkey— anyone who sails in the fall will be rewarded with tranquility, wind, and a Mediterranean late summer. Sailing without Mass tourism, with plenty of space in coves and marinas, and mild temperatures—that’s the charm of an autumn sailing trip in the Mediterranean.
Recommendation: Book now & enjoy the fall sunshine
Demand for fall sailing trips is on the rise—especially in the well-protected and popular sailing destinations. If you’re flexible and can travel outside of peak vacation seasons, you’ll find ideal conditions right now. Flights are cheaper, there’s still a selection of yachts available—and the Mediterranean is at its most relaxing.
