Even small changes can make a big difference—if we all do our part!
Tips for Dealing with Trash on Board:
- Waste reduction starts with your shopping: Look for eco-friendly packaging. Buy bulk packages instead of many individual packages.
- Please avoid using plastic bags! Marine animals often mistake them for food. Incidentally, it takes 10 to 20 years for them to decompose—and harmful microplastics are released in the process.
- Wash your dishes with eco-friendly dish soap and avoid using disposable plastic dishes, cups, and straws.
- Please sort your onboard trash carefully! Please dispose of your sorted waste in the recycling bins provided at the harbor!
- Make sure that packaging doesn't get blown overboard, and under no circumstances throw cigarette butts into the sea.
