the expert guidance of a skipper.

Sailing with a skipper – your advantages:

  • No prior knowledge or qualifications required
  • Experienced skippers accompany you during the entire trip
  • Get involved on board and learn more about sailing
  • All our yachts can be booked with skipper

Do you dream of sailing but don’t have a license, or are you a beginner who hasn’t logged enough nautical miles yet and would therefore like some assistance? Sailors with a sailing license who want to spend relaxing days on a sailing yacht without taking on responsibility for the yacht and crew also hire a skipper. An external skipper is also ideal for guests without a sailing license who would like to spend their vacation on a sailing yacht or a catamaran. Our skippers will take you to the most beautiful harbors and bays at our sailing destinations in Croatia, Turkey, Greece, Slovenia,
Italy, Spain, or the Netherlands.

Frequently Asked Questions About Sailing with a Skipper

No, you don’t need any prior experience or sailing licenses. Your professional skipper will take full responsibility for navigation, steering the boat, and safety on board. If you’d like, you’re welcome to lend a hand under the skipper’s guidance and learn the basics of sailing—or you can simply sit back and enjoy the ride.

The skipper needs his own cabin on board to rest and get the necessary sleep. As for meals, the Crew (your group) provides meals for the skipper—he eats with you during shared meals on board or when dining at restaurants ashore. The cost of his meals is covered by the shared onboard fund.

Yes, the cruise itinerary is planned in close consultation between you and your skipper. At the start of the trip, let him know your preferences regarding bays, shore excursions, or preferred distances. The skipper will assess the feasibility, taking into account the current weather and wind conditions, and suggest the best and safest route for you.

The skipper is solely responsible for the safe operation of the vessel, navigation, maneuvers in port, and onboard technical matters. He is not a cook, waiter, or cleaning staff. Preparing meals, washing dishes, and keeping the common areas clean are tasks carried out collectively by the group (unless you book a hostess or cook as an additional service).

In addition to the daily rate for the skipper, the usual incidental costs associated with a yacht charter apply. These include meals for the group and the skipper, as well as fuel and harbor fees/mooring fees, among other things. These variable costs are handled on-site through the shared onboard fund.
