Check-Out after the charter cruise

Find out everything you need to know about checking out after your charter trip with Nautic Alliance – including a checklist, tips on refueling, technical checks and diver inspections to ensure everything runs smoothly.

How to return your yacht in a relaxed manner

Check-Out: The last step of your yacht vacation

The check-out marks the end of an unforgettable yacht charter. Even when the trip comes to an end, you will take home some wonderful memories. To ensure that the last step is just as stress-free as the rest of your sailing adventure, find out here how check-out works, what you should look out for – and how to avoid unnecessary hassle.

Why is the check-out so important?

When you checked in, you took over your yacht in perfect technical condition. So that the next Crew can also enjoy a perfect start to their vacation, we ask you to return it just as carefully. Our common goal: an efficient, transparent and professional process – for charter guests, skipper and base team alike.

When and how does check-out take place?

For the classic 7-day charter (Saturday to Saturday), the yacht must be returned to the base by Friday, 18:00 at the latest. The official check-out takes place immediately afterwards. You can spend the last night on board. The final handover takes place on Saturday at 08:00 at the latest.

We recommend that you find out about the specific procedures of the respective base directly at check-in. This way you can enjoy your cruise right to the end – without any surprises.

The three steps of the yacht check-out at the charter base

Technical check-out

according to the handover protocol

Our base team carefully checks all points of the check-in protocol:

  • Navigation electronics, sails, rigging, engine,…
  • Safety equipment
  • Equipment on deck and in the interior

Please understand that there may be short waiting times if several items are returned at the same time.

Diver inspection

Safety under water

A specially trained diver checks the underwater hull and the steering gear for damage. The results are documented – usually with photos or video recordings.

Check out at the office

After a successful technical inspection, broom-clean handover and diver inspection, you can check out at the office. The deposit will be refunded if there is no damage.

Your checklist for a smooth yacht check-out

Refuel yacht

and save time

Please return the yacht with a full tank of diesel – exactly as you received it. Our tip: Refuel the day before to avoid long waits at the marina filling station. Also fill up the reserve canister and use it for refueling if necessary – outside the marina area.

Yacht handed over swept clean

Please leave the yacht swept clean:

  • No dirty dishes
  • Clean out the fridge
  • Empty garbage cans and dispose of waste
  • Remove personal items

This ensures that the cleaning crew can do their work efficiently and the next charter guests can board on time.

Defects and damage

Please always register in good time!

Transparency creates trust. Please report all defects, even minor ones, directly to our base team. This allows us to plan repairs in good time and avoid unpleasant discussions.

Tip: Always document damage and note it in the check-out log!

On-board toilets

Small causes, big effect

Our base crew will check all toilets on board with the skipper. Blockages are considered operating errors and are not covered by deposit insurance!

Yes, the rule applies: take over with a full tank – return with a full tank. To avoid waiting times at the filling station, we recommend refueling on the penultimate day of the charter and, if necessary, topping up with the reserve canister (outside the marina).

Please report any damage or defects directly to the base. The information is recorded in the check-out protocol and ensures a transparent process.

After a successful technical inspection, diver’s inspection and broom-clean return, the deposit will be released at the office. Alternatively, at many bases we offer a deposit refund without a deposit on site.
