Sailing at last!

Our tips for a relaxed check-in

Whether you’re an experienced skipper or a newcomer on board: the anticipation is great, but there’s one more important step before you cast off: checking in at the charter base. To make this as relaxed as possible, we have put together some tried and tested tips for you.

Our tips for a stress-free start to your sailing vacation

The scent of the sea, the warm breeze on your skin and the gentle lapping of the waves on the bow – your sailing vacation with Nautic Alliance is just around the corner?

If Crew and the skipper provide all the necessary information in good time, check-in at our bases runs like clockwork – and you can cast off your lines more quickly.

Because a stress-free sailing vacation doesn’t just start at sea – it starts on the jetty!

The best way to start stress-free? Preparation!

The boarding pass

– Your compass to the base

The boarding pass contains all the important information about your booked yacht, your charter base and the contact persons on site. Please read it carefully – even if you have sailed with us before. Small changes, e.g. a new office at the marina, can avoid major detours.

You will also find information on:

  • Service times of the base
  • Parking lot situation
  • Shopping facilities
  • Payment methods
  • Emergency numbers

The crew list

Mandatory document with a big impact

The fully completed crew list is a must – at the latest one week before the start of the cruise. It is an official document that is sent to the authorities and is a prerequisite for the release of your yacht. The more complete and correct the information, the faster the check-in.

Tip: Fill it in directly after booking, then it’s done. You can make changes at any time up until your departure.

Arrival time

A hint with a big impact

Stating your planned arrival time helps our team on site to better plan cleaning and service work. Please note: This does not automatically mean that your yacht is ready to be taken over at this time. But: If you arrive on time, you can relax and get in the mood for your vacation – with an ice cream in the marina or your first cappuccino with a view of the sea.

Extra relaxed?

Super-Early-Check-In and Wednesday-Wednesday-Charter

Check-In Tips:

For all those who want to leave the stress completely behind, we have two special offers at Nautic Alliance two special offers:

Super-Early-Check-In
The turbo start to your vacation

Would you like to get on board super early? No problem – if available, you can book a super-early check-in at many of our bases directly at the time of booking.
If the boat is free the day before and you would like to arrive the day before, you can even stay overnight on your yacht. This means you not only start your trip earlier, but also without any stress.

Wednesday-Wednesday-Charter
Cleverly escape the traffic jam

Did you know that a Wednesday-Wednesday charter is also possible at selected bases? This allows you to avoid:
– the typical travel congestion on Saturday
– long waiting times at the bases
– the overcrowded ports on the usual routes
Instead, you can expect a relaxed check-in during the week, free berths and quiet bays – sailing away from the mainstream!

On-site check-in – step by step

When can I check in?

Regular check-in starts at 17:00. If you have booked early check-in from 13:00 – or even earlier with the super early check-in!

But: The actual handover depends on the condition of the yacht when the pre-crew returns. We focus on quality – and that sometimes takes a little more time.

Formal check-in at the office

Please have the following documents ready:

– Passport or identity card (plus copy or photo)
– Copy of the completed crew list
– Original skipper’s license
– Boarding pass
– Charter contract

Your boarding pass also states which services are to be paid for and how – in cash or by credit card. The deposit must be paid on site – depending on the destination and yacht model.

The technical check-in on board

After the office comes the exciting part: you get to know your yacht. The skipper (possibly with a co-skipper) checks all the equipment together with one of our technicians:

– Safety equipment
– On-board electronics
– Toilets, water, engine
– Valves and technical features

Not only is the functionality checked, but you also get to know the special features of your yacht.
Please note: In the high season, our technicians may need a little more time – for example, if a yacht has previously been delayed or damaged. Please bear with us – our team will do its utmost to ensure that every Crew has a perfect start to their vacation.

A relaxed start – even at home

  • Pack the evening before
  • Use a checklist
  • Treat yourself to a good breakfast
  • Plan enough time for the journey
  • Contact your base on the day of arrival and ask about the current status of your yacht

Please do not wait at the jetty with all your luggage. Our teams have to work there – store your bags in the car or ask for storage space at the base.
